MicroStrategy ONE
Troubleshooting
Known Issues
MicroStrategy for Office PowerPoint has some known issues that might occur while using the tool:
- Imported content is highlighted by selection in the PowerPoint plugin panel, but the selection on the slide does not highlight content in the plugin panel.
- When an object is deleted using Delete, not via the plugin, that object is still visible in the plugin. The object cannot be refreshed and brought back. When you attempt to remove an object using the plugin, an error displays that the removal failed and the object is no longer visible in the plugin.
- When you import a visualization, the Designer option in PowerPoint is triggered. This issue can create issues when loading multiple visualizations at the same time. If you switch from Designer to Plugin and make changes to a visualization that are still being imported to PowerPoint, PowerPoint will automatically move back to Designer once the new content is finished importing.
- All visualizations and grouped objects that are imported into PowerPoint are stacked on top of each other and there is no option to keep the placement consistent with the original dashboard that the content is imported from.
- Content that is imported into PowerPoint can only be moved or duplicated with the plugin panel because key shortcuts do not work.
- All visualizations and grouped objects that are imported into PowerPoint are not recognized as pictures by PowerPoint. This behavior impacts resizing capabilities. If you resize an image by clicking it's corner, also use the Shift key so you do not lose the ratio. This is not consistent with the resizing behavior for imported images in PowerPoint.
- Grids that have many rows or columns are cut off. When vertical or horizontal scrolling is applied to the dashboard, the same functionality is not imported to PowerPoint.
Troubleshoot Import Visualizations
The following troubleshooting information applies to the MicroStrategy ONE Update 12 visualization enhancement.
Rescaling the image significantly looks different from the original import and the text is hard to read.
Rescaling images can affect visualization appearance, especially concerning font size in relation to the image size. It is best to start with a large, maximized visualization in the Library import window.
The imported image size differs from the visualization in the Library import window.
Adjust the size of the Library import window first and click the check box before importing the visualization. The add-in captures the size and aspect ratio of the visualization in a dashboard when the user clicks the corresponding check box and does not recognize subsequent changes in the Library window size that affects the visualization aspect ratio and size.
