MicroStrategy ONE
Properties Dialog Box, Document Properties, Advanced
If you arrived here from Workstation, see the Workstation Document Authoring Help.
You can use the Advanced options in the Document Properties section of the Properties dialog box to modify layouts, formatting, and document performance. These properties affect the entire document, including all layouts of a multi-layout document.
- Layout
- Show single layout tab: Select this checkbox to display one layout tab at a time in the document. This option is for multi-layout documents only.
- Apply grouping selection to all layouts: Select this checkbox to apply grouping selections to all layouts that contain the same grouping field. If the checkbox is cleared, when a user changes the grouping in one layout, the change is not retained when the user switches layouts.
- Panel Stacks (DHTML Only)
- Pre-load: Determines how the
panels in panel stacks are loaded in MicroStrategy Web when DHTML
is enabled.
- All Panels of All Panel Stacks: Loads all panels of all the panel stacks in the document when the document is executed. This makes switching between panel stacks very fast, but increases document execution time.
- Current Panel Only of All Panel Stacks: Loads only the first panel (the current panel) of all the panel stacks in the document when the document is executed; other panels are loaded when the user requests them. This reduces the document execution time, but requires a user to wait while other panel stacks load.
- Pre-load: Determines how the
panels in panel stacks are loaded in MicroStrategy Web when DHTML
is enabled.
- Data
- Trim sections for which no metric value data is available: (This applies only to metric values) Select this checkbox to remove the document sections that do not contain metric data.
- Remove groups that contain null elements: By default, this checkbox is selected. To display any grouping elements that contain null values, clear this checkbox.
- Optimize memory usage of derived objects: Skip the evaluation of unused derived attributes and derived elements in a document to improve performance during execution.
- Remove missing units: Determine whether objects missing from the source datasets are displayed in the document. MicroStrategy recommends that missing objects are not removed, to alert you if objects are removed from a dataset. If missing objects are not removed, the object name is displayed, but without any data. By default, the project-level setting is used.
-

- Allow users to subscribe to all schedules (default): Select this option to allow users to subscribe to the document using any schedule associated with the MicroStrategy project in which the document is stored.
- Only allow users to subscribe to schedules in the list below: Select this option to specify the list of schedules users can select from when subscribing to the document. Schedules in the Selected list are available to users subscribing to the document. Select a schedule in the Available list and click the Add icon to move it to the Selected list. Refresh (Presentation Mode and Mobile Clients only)
Automatically refresh every ___ seconds: You can have the document periodically refresh itself as it is being displayed on a mobile device or in Presentation Mode in MicroStrategy Web. In Presentation Mode, an icon is displayed to allow users to pause and resume automatic refreshing. Refreshing a document provides real-time monitoring to ensure that the document cache is still valid. This checkbox is cleared by default.
To allow automatic refresh, select this checkbox. In the field, type the amount of time, in seconds, to wait before each refresh.
