Enforcing Device Enrollment for Badges
You can add additional security by requiring each user to associate a mobile phone number to their badge in the MicroStrategy Badge app. This allows you to better control your resources and allows users to receive badge update notifications.
Network Administrator access to the MicroStrategy Identity Network.
Users in your network have active badges.
You have a Slooce Technology account, and can send one-way SMS messages. For Canadian users, see SMS Long and Short Codes.
To Enable Device Enrollment for your MicroStrategy Identity Network
- Log into Identity Manager.
- Click Users & Badges.
- Under Badge Management, click Properties.
- Click Device Security.
- To require mobile phone number, set the Phone Number Enrollment switch to On. If you want users to receive badge notifications via their smartphone, be sure to select the SMS check box under User Notification. By default, email notifications are selected.
- If you want to limit the number of devices a user can associate with their badge, enter the total number of devices allowed in the Device Number Limitation field.
- To configure the SMS gateway, open the Provisioning tab, then under Provisioning Method select "SMS" and provide the following:
- URI: Your Slooce URI
- User ID: The username for your Slooce account
- Password: The password for your Slooce account
- Keyword: The keyword(s) associated with your long or short code
- Click Save.
Users in the network are now required to associate mobile phone numbers with their badges.
To Edit a Mobile Phone Number Associated with a MicroStrategy Badge
- Log into MicroStrategy Identity Manager:
- Click Users & Badges.
- Under User Management, click Manage Users.
- To edit a user's information:
- Click the Edit icon for the user whose information you want to edit.
- Enter the updated user information into the Phone Number field.
- Click Save.
