Prepare Data Before Importing

Starting in Strategy One (April 2026), you can prepare dataset and cube data before importing. Select relevant columns and apply filters to only import your required data.

Prerequisite

Starting in Strategy One (April 2026), you must have the Web run Dashboard privilege to edit and prepare datasets before importing as the prepare data dialog leverages the dashboard interface prior to import. This privilege is required for Mosaic and Strategy One users.

Prepare Data

  1. Connect to Strategy for Google Sheets™.

  2. Click Import Data or if you have previously imported data, click Add Data.

  3. Choose a report or starting in Strategy One (April 2026), a dataset.

  4. Click Prepare Data.

  5. If you are using Strategy One (April 2026) or later:

    1. A report dialog displays. In Available Objects, double click attributes and metrics to view them in the Data Preview panel.

    2. To rearrange the data in the Data Preview, click and drag the headers.

    3. To sort data, right-click its header and choose a sorting option.

    4. To filter data:

      1. Click Filter .

      2. Click to create a new filter.

      3. Enter the required information and click Done.

      4. Click Apply.

  6. If you are using a version prior to Strategy One (April 2026), an edit report dialog displays. You can make updates to your report similar to you would in Library. The updates you make in this dialog will not be reflected in your original report.

  7. Click Import.

    Do not close the dialog until the import completes.

  8. If your selected cell range is unavailable, select a new active cell or sheet as the import destination. Click OK.
