Enforcing Fingerprint Verification as a Requirement to Access a Badge

You can require users to verify their identities by using touch ID on their mobile devices to access their badge(s).

If you enable fingerprint verification in your network, it is recommended that you also enable passcode verification for your network. Users who do not have smartphones which support fingerprint verification can instead enter a passcode to access their badges. For steps to enable passcode verification, see Enforcing passcode verification as a requirement to access a badge.

To access badges, users must use the MicroStrategy Badge.

Before opening a badge for which fingerprint verification is enforced, users must enroll their fingerprints on their smartphones. For steps to enroll fingerprints, users should review the third-party documentation for their smartphones.

To Enforce Fingerprint Verification as a Requirement to Access a Badge

  1. Log into MicroStrategy Identity Manager.
  2. Click Users & Badges.
  3. Under Badge Management, click Properties.
  4. Click Authentication.
  5. Under Secure with Fingerprint or App Passcode select Fingerprint Verifcation Only

Users whose smartphones do not support fingerprint verification will not be able to access their badges unless you enable passcode verification. (Select the Fingerprint Verification or App Passcode or App Passcode Only.) For steps, see Enforcing passcode verification as a requirement to access a badge.

  1. Click Save.
