Create Prompted Incremental Refresh Reports (IRRs)

Starting in Strategy One (February 2026), you can create prompted incremental refresh reports. Use prompted incremental refresh reports to compare filtered results of the report with data currently available in the Intelligent cube so you can update the Intelligent cube with only new data.

To use, create, and edit IRRs, you must at least have the following privileges respectively:

  • Client-Web: Web use metric editor

  • Server-Intelligence: Create application objects

  1. Open the Workstation window.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click Datasets and locate the cube where you want to update data.

  3. Right-click the cube and choose New > Incremental Refresh Report from.

  4. Expand the Refresh Type drop-down list and choose the refresh method.

  5. In the Filter panel, click New Qualification.

  6. Click Search... in Based On.

  7. Search for an existing prompt or click Create Prompt.

  8. If you click Create Prompt:

    1. Expand the type drop-down list and choose a prompt type.

      If you have already selected a prompt type and want to choose a new type, click the prompt type name and choose a new type.

    2. In Search... search and choose the object you want to base the prompt on.

    3. Click the value next to Prompt title and instructions and optionally edit the Prompt Title and Instructions to display with a user opens the IRR.

    4. Click the value next to Answer restrictions.

    5. Optionally select the check box next to minimum and maximum objects, qualifications, and more and type a value to further customize the minimum and maximum amounts.

    6. Optionally select the check box next to Prompt answer required to require users to answer the prompt to view the IRR.

    7. Optionally select the check box next to Allow personal answers to allow users to save and reuse Single or Multiple prompt answers.

    8. Click the value next to Default answer and optionally select the check box next to the objects to include in the prompt answer by default.

    9. Click Done.

  9. To see the objects included in the cube definition, go to the Objects pane and click In Cube.

  10. Click Save And Preview.

  11. Define your prompt selections.

  12. Click Apply.

  13. To view the SQL to be executed, click SQL Query at the top.
