Developer window menu options: Schema

Create New Project displays the Project Creation Assistant dialog box, which guides you, step by step, through the selection of tables and the creation of facts and attributes for a new project.

Duplicate Project opens the Project Duplication wizard, which allows you to duplicate a MicroStrategy project.

Warehouse Catalog opens the Schema Objects folder, from which you can add or remove tables associated with a project.

Fact Creation Wizard opens the Fact Creation Wizard, which allows you to select, from the existing fact columns, those you want to use.

Attribute Creation Wizard opens the Attribute Creation Wizard, which guides you through the selection of IDs, descriptions, and lookup tables to create new attributes.

Form Categories opens the Form Categories dialog box that allows you to define the form properties of an attribute.

Update Schema opens the Schema Update dialog box, which allows you to:

Update schema logical information
-
Recalculate table keys and fact entry levels
-
Recalculate table logical sizes
-
Recalculate project client object cache size
-

SQL Generation Options opens the Project Configuration dialog box, which provides a tab to select preference data for SQL generation. Other tabs available on this dialog box:

general project settings
-
governing (warehouse results, job, and user sessions)
-
caching (level, memory allocations, and so on)
-
connection mapping (internal project connections)
-
statistics settings for metadata tables
-
security roles (user and user-group access)
-
security filters
-
advanced project settings (display limits, browsing, analytical engine settings)

Edit Logical Size opens the Logical Size Editor that allows you to view and manage the size of each table in the warehouse in relation to other logical table sizes.

Import Functions opens the Import Functions dialog box that allows you to import custom function plug-ins that you have created with the Function Plug-in Wizard.

Graphical Views consists of the following sub menus:

Tables opens the Table Viewer that allows you to view the project schema in logical view or physical view.

Hierarchy opens the Hierarchy Viewer that allows you to view hierarchies, both the user-defined hierarchies and the system hierarchy.

Print Project Schema opens the Print Project Schema dialog box, on which you can request printing of schema connections, warehouse tables, fact and attribute definitions, physical or logical table-catalog views, and project statistics.

Export Project Schema opens that Export Schema dialog box that allows you to export your schema, or sections of your schema, to Microsoft Excel.

Lock Schema allows you to lock a schema to control changes.
Use of Schema menu options is enabled only for users with the appropriate authorization. Consult your system administrator for details.
