MicroStrategy ONE
Viewing the predictive model
Predictive metrics are different from other MicroStrategy metrics since they implement a data mining model, which is more than a mathematical expression. These predictive models, and the PMML that describes them, contain information about variables, variable transformations, and details about the data mining techniques they implement. All this information can be viewed in MicroStrategy Developer using the Predictive Model Viewer.
You can access the Predictive Model Viewer in any of the following ways:
-
In MicroStrategy Developer, right-click a predictive metric in the right-hand pane and select View Predictive Model.
-
In the Metric Editor when editing a predictive metric, from the Tools menu, select View Predictive Model.
-
In a MicroStrategy Developer report or graph, right-click a predictive metric in the right-hand pane and select View Predictive Model.
The Predictive Model Viewer has the following tabs, each one showing a different aspect of the predictive model:
-
Model: Model related information, including a visualization of the model (appropriate to the type of model), model level information, the model's PMML description and model quality information (varies by model).
-
Variables: Information relating to the variables in the model, along with information about variable transformations within the models (if any) and detailed variables statistics (varies by model and type of variable).
-
Simulation: An interactive simulator that shows how the model behaves in response to changing inputs.
-
Model Verification: A listing of any model verification records provided by the model, along with the actual scored results. The scored results are generated by sending the input values provided by the model verification records into the MicroStrategy scoring engine.
The Predictive Model Viewer includes the ability to export its PMML to an XML file and its data in to a comma-separated value format using the Export button.
