Locking row headers

MicroStrategy allows you to lock row and column headers on a grid report. This function enables scrolling back and forth, both horizontally and vertically, without losing sight of the row or column names. This property is particularly advantageous when you want to view information that spans more rows or columns than can be displayed at one time.

The procedure below locks row headers so you can scroll side to side and not lose sight of the row names. To apply this same functionality to columns, see Locking column headers.

To lock row headers

1. Open the Template Editor or the Report Editor, as shown below:

   • Steps to access the Template Editor

   • Steps to access the Report Editor

2. From the Grid menu, choose LockRowHeaders.

   If the button is already selected (a box appears around the icon), then the headers are already locked. Selecting the icon in this state unlocks the row headers.
