Incremental Refresh Options, Advanced

Use these options to select whether the incremental refresh uses a Filter or Report to refresh the Intelligent Cube.

  • Filter: This is the default option. If the Intelligent Cube's definition includes a filter, the filter is used as the incremental refresh filter by default. You can modify the existing filter, or define a filter if the Intelligent Cube's definition does not include one. When the incremental refresh is executed, the data returned by the filter is compared to the data that is already in the cube, and is updated based on the option you choose in the Incremental Refresh Options, General tab. This option is unavailable for Intelligent Cubes created using Freeform SQL or Query Builder.

  • Report: This option allows you to define a report that is used for the incremental refresh. When the incremental refresh is executed, the results of the report are compared to the data that is already in the cube, and is updated based on the option you choose in the Incremental Refresh Options, General tab. This is the only option for Intelligent Cubes created using Freeform SQL or Query builder.

    • The report template must meet the following conditions:

    • It must include all the attributes and metrics that are present in the Intelligent Cube.

    • If you choose Delete under the Refresh Type in Incremental Refresh Options, General, a subset of the attributes may be used.
