MicroStrategy ONE

Display modes in MicroStrategy Web

In MicroStrategy Web, you view the document results and manipulate the document's data in multiple ways using Presentation Mode. You design documents in Design Mode and Editable Mode. Design Mode offers a full range of document creation options, but does not display actual data. Editable Mode allows you to view the data while you design the document, so its performance is slower than Design Mode. More details are provided in the table below.

Presentation Mode replaces Express Mode, Flash Mode, and Interactive Mode as a single powerful display mode. Documents created before MicroStrategy version 10.1 are displayed in Interactive Mode or Flash Mode, if that was their default display mode.

To open documents in various modes

  • To view a document in Presentation Mode, do one of the following:

    • From a folder page, click the name of a document to open it. The document is displayed in Presentation Mode by default.

    • From Design Mode or Editable Mode, click the Presentation Mode icon Presentation Mode icon.

  • To edit a document in Design Mode, do one of the following:

    • From a folder page, right-click the document and select Edit.

    • From Presentation Mode, click the menu icon Menu icon (the hamburger) on the right, and select Edit.

    • From Editable Mode, click the Design Mode icon Design Mode icon on the toolbar.

  • To edit a document in Editable Mode, do one of the following:

    • From a folder, right-click the document, point to Run as, and select Editable.

    • From Design Mode, click the Editable Mode icon Editable Mode icon.

The options available depend on your user privileges and the display modes enabled for the document.
