Strategy One
Mainstream support for legacy tools such as Developer, Command Manager, and Object Manager is set to end December 2026. Strategy suggests that you upgrade to Workstation to maintain continuity and utilize modern capabilities. For more information on functional parity between these tools and Workstation, see the Workstation vs Legacy Tools Feature Parity dashboard.
Starting a new script
A new Script window opens for every metadata connection or connection-less session you initiate, with a single empty script tab. Each Script window can contain up to five different scripts, each in a different script tab.
To start a new script
- Connect to a project source or Narrowcast Server, or open a connection-less window. (How?) A Script window opens, containing a single empty script tab.
- Click in the editing pane of the script window and begin composing your script.
To open a new script tab
-
Select the Script window for the connection for which to open a new script tab.
-
From the File menu, choose New Script. A new script tab appears in the Script window.
A given Script window cannot have more than five script tabs open at once. If your Script window already has five script tabs, you must either close one or more script tabs (How?), or open an additional Script window by opening another connection to the same metadata source (How?).
