MicroStrategy ONE
Adding a Web GUI Component
This topic provides step-by-step instructions on adding a Web GUI Component to a page template of a MicroStrategy Web page.
-
Launch the Display Web GUI Component Wizard.
-
Enter the name for the Web GUI Component in the Component Name text box.
-
Check the box This component is a container if the Web GUI Component is a container.
-
Select a Web bean from the drop-down menu to associate the bean with the Web GUI Component.
-
If you want to make the Web GUI Component conditional, select the check box Enable this component only when certain features are available to a user. This allows you to select web features that define when the Web GUI Component is displayed. If you select this check box, the next panel is a shopping cart to select web features.
If you highlight only one web feature in either pane, the declaration for that feature is displayed in the pane below, together with a brief explanation of what the feature does. If you highlight multiple features, only the text Multiple Selection is displayed.
When you select a web feature, a check box appears next to it in the list of selected features. Selecting the check box adds the web feature as a position condition. Clearing the check box adds the web feature as a negative ("not") condition. For example, clearing the check box for the administrator web feature adds the condition "not administrator."
-
When you are finished selecting features, click Next.
-
If you do not select the Enable this component only when certain features are available to the user check box, click Next.
-
Enter the name of the style to associate with the Web GUI Component in the Style associated to this component text box.
-
Check the box for From Preference if the style is specified in the preference attribute.
-
Click the Add button to include an event that will refresh the Web GUI Component.
-
Click Next.
-
Click Finish.
-
Save your changes.
