Designating a language and character set for MicroStrategy Developer

  1. In MicroStrategy Developer, from the Tools menu, select DeveloperPreferences. The MicroStrategy Developer Preferences dialog box opens.

  2. Expand the International category, and click Language.

  3. Use the Interface language drop-down list to select the language in which to display MicroStrategy Developer.

  4. Select one of the following Language for metadata and warehouse data if user and project level preferences are set to default options:

    • To use the same language that is used for the MicroStrategy Developer translation (the Interface Language selected above), select Use the same language as MicroStrategy Developer.

    • To use the language that is specified in the local machine's Regional Options. select Use language from Regional Settings.

  5. In the list of categories on the left, click Grid Font.

  6. You can designate a specific character set to display in a MicroStrategy grid report, such as a Chinese or Hebrew character set. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Select the Override the default grid character setcheck box.

    2. Select the character set that will best display your data in grid reports from the Select the character set to be used in the grid drop-down list.

    3. Select the font that best displays the chosen character set from the Select the font to be used in the griddrop-down list.

  7. Click OK to save your changes and return to MicroStrategy Developer.
