Customizing report storage in the History List folder

1. In MicroStrategy Developer, from the Tools menu, select DeveloperPreferences. The MicroStrategy Developer Preferences dialog box opens.

2. Expand the Developer category, if it is not already open, and click History.

3. To return the results for all reports to the History List folder, where you can view the results, select the Automatically send reports to History List during execution check box.

4. To clear the report results from the History List after you view a report's results in the History List and then close the report, select the Show only unread messages check box. If this check box is selected, report results remain in the History List until you delete them. (Report results are sometimes called messages in the History List.)

5. To receive a warning message before the History List begins to delete the oldest report result, select the Show a warning before the History List reaches the maximum allowed check box.

   If the Show a warning check box is selected, you can specify when to be prompted that the History folder is nearing its maximum, based on the percentage of messages in the History List folder. Enter the percentage in the Display the warning when this percentage of messages is reached field. For example, if you want to be warned when the History List folder is three quarters (75%) full that the system will soon begin deleting the oldest report results, type 75 in this field.

6. Click OK to save your changes and return to the MicroStrategy Developer.
