Creating a description for a filter

If you save filters in a system-level folder, that is, a folder shared by other users of the system, it is beneficial to include descriptions that can help you and other users easily identify filters.

To create a description for a filter

  1. In MicroStrategy Developer, double-click the filter to add descriptions to. The Filter Editor opens.

  2. From the File menu, select Properties. The Properties dialog box opens.

  3. On the General tab, enter a brief Description of the filter.

  4. Click the Long Description tab and enter a detailed description of the filter.

  5. Click OK to return to the Filter Editor.

  6. Save the filter. (How?)
