Prompt Generation Editor

The Prompt Generation Editor allows you to create a prompted attribute qualification, which allows a user to choose the attribute elements, attribute forms, or operators on which to qualify at report run time.

The options are:

  • List all to qualify on a list of attribute elements.

  • Qualify on the attribute to qualify on the attribute form. For example, an attribute form qualification on Customer Last Name, when used in a report, returns the data of only those customers whose last names satisfy the condition that you specify.

  • List filtered by to use an existing filter. If this option is selected, click ... (the browse button) to browse for the filter.

Accessing the Prompt Generation Editor

  1. In the Filter Editor, select the attribute in the Object Browser to include in the qualification.

  2. From the Insert menu, choose Filter Prompt.
