Drill Map Editor: Drill Map Association dialog box

If the Drill Map Editor was accessed from another editor (that is, you are editing an object's drill maps), you can only view the associations of the selected drill map. If you are creating or editing a drill map, you can create and edit the associations. For more information on associations, see Drill maps and associations.

Drill Map Association (Read Only)

To access this dialog box, click Associations on the Drill Map Editor. This button is available only when you access the Drill Map Editor from another editor, such as the Report Editor or Attribute Editor. You can also access the dialog box from the Drill Map Editor's Tools menu.

This dialog box is read-only. You cannot modify the contents; you can only view the associations.

All associations for the selected drill map are shown in the Selected Objects box. The associations are shown in context, meaning whether the drill map is associated with an object at the grid unit level or report level, for instance. Click OK to close the dialog box and return to the Drill Map Editor.

For more information on levels of drill map association, see the appropriate topic in the Advanced Reporting Help.

Drill Map Associations

To access this dialog box, click Associate with on the Drill Map Editor. This button is available only when you access the Drill Map Editor by selecting New/Drill Map or File/New/Drill Map from MicroStrategy Developer. You can also access the dialog box from the Drill Map Editor's Tools menu.

The Drill Map Associations dialog box allows you to select which object or objects use the drill map.

Using the Available Objects drop-down box, you can navigate to a desired folder within your project. Double-click the folder to open it. Once you navigate to the desired object, use the right > and left < arrows to move the object from the Available Objects side to the Selected Objects side, or vice versa. Click Cancel to close the dialog box without saving your changes, or click OK to close the dialog box and save your changes.
