MicroStrategy ONE

Developer Preferences: Developer category, Security preferences

Security preferences determine how MicroStrategy Developer handles certain settings when you log out of the software, and when you log in again. You can determine functionality such as how MicroStrategy Developer processes pending report executions, and whether the last project that you were logged into is displayed automatically when you log in again.

For detailed information about History Lists and how History caching works, as well as general report caching, see the System Administration Help.

From the Developer category on the left, you can specify the following Security preferences:

  • Cancel the pending reports, HTML documents, and messages when exiting:

  • If you select Yes, all the pending requests for reports, Report Services documents, and HTML documents are cancelled when you log out. A pending request is one that you have submitted by double-clicking on a report or document, but which has not yet displayed the results. A pending request is either waiting its turn to access the data warehouse, or is in the process of accessing the data warehouse and calculating the results to be displayed.

  • If you select No, all the pending and in-progress requests continue processing after you log out. These request results are then stored in the History List folder.

  • Remove all completed messages from the History List:

  • If you select Yes, whenever you log out the stored report results are deleted from the History List folder. The History List folder stores report results from a variety of sources, including scheduled reports whose results are automatically delivered at certain times, reports saved to the History List, and so on.

  • If you select No, all report results in the History List folder are retained. Messages will be deleted automatically according to the size allowed by your administrator. You can additionally maintain the folder by deleting messages manually.

  • If you select Only read messages, whenever you log out only the report results that you have opened are deleted.

  • Prompt me on logout: If you select this, whenever you log out MicroStrategy Developer displays a message with the History Logout Options (which are described in the bullet above), asking whether you want to change the existing settings when you log out.

  • Automatically log into last open project on startup: If you select this, MicroStrategy Developer automatically displays the last logged out project, when you log in again.
