Advanced Subtotals Options dialog box: Custom Subtotal Properties dialog box

This dialog box allows you to define a template subtotal, which becomes part of the Template definition, by specifying each metric subtotal that appears in the report. The following information is displayed in this dialog box:

• Provide a name for the custom subtotal: Enter a name for your new custom subtotal.

• Define the subtotals you would like to use for each metric: All the metrics used in your report are listed in this area. Next to the metric is the assigned subtotal. To change the subtotal, click on the listed subtotal. A drop-down list appears. From this list, select the desired subtotal you would like to use for each metric.

  If a metric is in the Report Objects pane but not on the report grid, the metric is not listed in the drop-down list, and therefore the custom subtotal cannot be defined for that metric. If you later move the metric from the Report Objects pane to the report, the custom subtotal cannot be calculated. You must define the custom subtotal for that metric, by returning to the Advanced Subtotals dialog box and selecting the metric.

• Reset all metric subtotals to: If your report contains a lot of metrics, and you wish to change them all so they use one subtotal, the easiest way to do that is by using this option. From this drop-down box, select the subtotal you would like to apply to all listed metrics, then click Reset.
