Registering Your WordPress Website or Blog with MicroStrategy Identity
To allow WordPress users to sign in by scanning a QR code with their smartphones, you must register your WordPress site in your MicroStrategy Identity Network.
The following steps contain only the information required to configure or use WordPress with MicroStrategy Identity. See WordPress's documentation for the latest information.
You must own the Wordpress.org product, version 3.9.1.
You must have access to your WordPress administration dashboard.
To display a custom image for the WordPress icon displayed in Identity Manager, you must create the image to display. Supported image formats are .png
, .jpeg
, and .jpg
file types.
To Register Your WordPress Website or Blog with MicroStrategy Identity
- Log into MicroStrategy Identity Manager.
- Click Logical Gateways.
- Under Web Application Login, click More, then click WordPress.
- In the Enter Your WordPress Site URL field, enter the URL of your WordPress site, then click Next.
- MicroStrategy Identity automatically loads basic information about your WordPress site. You can change the image and the display name:
- To change the image that is displayed with your WordPress site in MicroStrategy Identity Manager, next to Icon, click Change. Select an icon to display, then click Open.
- To change the name for your WordPress configuration, next to Display Name, click Change, then enter a new name in the field. The name can be up to 30 characters long. When done, click OK.
- Click Next.
- To download the plug-in that enables Identity functionality with WordPress, click Download Your Plugin. Depending on your browser, you may need to navigate to a location to save the plug-in, then click Save.
- In a new tab or window of your web browser, log in to your WordPress administration dashboard and do the following:
- Select Plugins on the left, then click Add New.
- Under Install Plugins, click Upload.
- Click Choose File, then navigate to and select the Identity plug-in file you just downloaded. By default, this file is named
usherize.zip
. Click Open. - Click Install Now.
- Click Activate Plugin.
- To confirm that the plug-in is successfully activated, return to the MicroStrategy Identity Manager site. Next to Activation Status, the word Complete should be displayed.
- When the plug-in is successfully activated, click Done.
Next, invite WordPress users to join your Identity Network, so they can sign in to WordPress by scanning a QR code displayed on the WordPress login page.
