Editing a Mobile App Configuration in MicroStrategy Identity

You can change the display name and image shown with your mobile app in MicroStrategy Identity. For example, if you integrate MicroStrategy Identity with several mobile apps, you can choose distinct images or display names to help distinguish your different mobile apps.

If your iOS bundle identifier or Android package name changes, you can update the relevant information that is saved in MicroStrategy Identity to integrate it with your updated mobile app.

If you enable SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption between the Identity Serverand your mobile server, and your signed certificate expires, you can obtain a new certificate to install on your mobile server.

The steps below assume that you have already integrated your third-party mobile app with MicroStrategy Identity. For steps, see Allowing iOS App Users to Sign In with MicroStrategy Identity Using Server-to-Server Authentication and Allowing Android App Users to Sign In with MicroStrategy Identity Using Server-to-Server Authentication.

For iOS apps, if you have changed the bundle ID of your iOS app, obtain the new value(s) from the .plist file.

For Android apps, if you have changed the Android package name, obtain the new value from the AndroidManifest.xml file.

If you are obtaining a newly signed certificate, you must create a certificate signing request (CSR). You must have a third-party tool to generate CSRs, such as the OpenSSL® utility.

The CSR must meet the following requirements:

  • RSA key size of at least 3072 bits
  • Hash algorithm of SHA-256 or higher
  • The CSR uses the following values:
    • Organization Name: Usher
    • Organizational Unit Name: Application
  • To display a custom image for your mobile app configuration in MicroStrategy Identity Manager, you must create the image to display. Supported image file formats are .png, .jpeg, and .jpg.
