MicroStrategy ONE
Configuring a Load Balancer for High Availability
To support high availability, you can configure multiple server/gateway nodes with a load balancer.
If you are using MicroStrategy Identity 10.8 or higher, you must add the information for each node in your cluster and restart all gateways for the changes to take effect. Failing to do so will cause problems with user log in and synchronization to the MicroStrategy Identity Server.
Before You Begin
Make sure that:
- The server node and gateway nodes exist on the same machine.
- The server nodes are accessible to the MicroStrategy Identity Server. When the cluster configuration is defined, a gateway.properties file is saved on each specified node.
To Configure Multiple Gateway and Server Nodes with a Load Balancer
- In MicroStrategy Identity Manager, click the pull-down arrow next to your username (upper-right) and select MicroStrategy Identity Configuration.
- Scroll down to the Cluster Configuration section.
- Specify the required information:
- Gateway Load Balancer: The address and port of the agent gateway balancer that is shipped with the MicroStrategy Identity Server. This field is automatically populated.
- Nodes: A node of the server's cluster. Enter the host, one way security server port, and gateway port.
- To add an additional node to the cluster, click Add a node and specify the node information.
- Click Next.
- Click Done.
- Restart the MicroStrategy Identity Server.
