Configuring Office 365 Applications for MicroStrategy Identity

The following procedures must be performed by users who want to use MicroStrategy Identity to sign in to Office 365 applications.

Configuring Office 365 Applications on Mobile Devices

  1. Install the MicroStrategy Badge app. (From the App Store or Google play, search for MicroStrategy Badge and install the app.)
  2. Install Outlook on your smartphone.
  3. Open the MicroStrategy Badge app, tap the Badges option, and tap the Get Badge button. Alternately, if you previously had a badge, tap the Settings option and tap Badge Recovery.
  4. Open the Outlook app and wait for the badge invitation email.
  5. Forward the badge invitation email to another email account, such as a personal email account.
  6. On your mobile device, with the other email account, open the forwarded badge invitation and tap Get My Badge.
  7. Follow the instructions to obtain your MicroStrategy Badge.

To Set Up Mail App

Mobile iOS

  1. Tap Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Exchange.
  2. Enter your username and password.

Mobile Android

If you use Nexus, do not use the Gmail app because sometimes the configuration fails.

Mac

  1. Open Mail.
  2. Select Mail > Add Account…
  3. Choose Exchange and enter https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx as both Internal & External URL.
  4. Enter usename (full email address) and password.

Windows 7

  1. If you already have Outlook 2010 and above, you don't need to do anything. Otherwise, install Outlook after setting up Web. (See next step.)
  2. To setup Web and find all 365 applications official downloads, go to https://portal.office.com. The web browser will display a QR code.
  3. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose to enter your password.
  4. After login, click the Install Office 2016 button on the top right corner or click other installs to download Skype for business and Lync. For OneDrive, go to https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/download/ and download it.

Windows 10

  1. Open the Mail application.
  2. Click the Settings button on left bottom corner.
  3. Choose Accounts > Add account.
  4. Select Exchange and enter your email address.
  5. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose to enter your password.

To Set Up Outlook Application

Mobile iOS and Android

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Enter the username and password.

Mac

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Choose Tools > Accounts > Exchange or Office 365.
  3. Enter the email, username and password.

  4. Click Add Account.

    Detecting the Exchange server may take several seconds. If the process fails, try again.

Windows 7 and Windows 10

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Choose File > Add Account. The application will display a view with the previous email account. If that is the account you want to configure, click Connect. If it is not the account you want to configure, choose Connect to a different account.
  3. Enter the email address and password.
  4. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

To Set Up Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Mobile iOS and Android

  1. Open application.
  2. Enter the username and password.

Mac

  1. Open application.
  2. Click the Sign in button.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

Windows 7 and Windows 10

  1. Open application.
  2. Click the Sign in button.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

To Set Up OneNote

Mobile iOS and Android

  1. Open OneNote.
  2. Enter the username and password.

Mac

  1. Open OneNote.
  2. Click the Sign in button.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

Windows 7 and Windows 10

  1. Open OneNote.
  2. Click the Sign in button.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

To Setup OneDrive

Mobile iOS and Android

  1. Open OneDrive.
  2. Enter the username and password.

Mac

  1. Open OneDrive.
  2. Choose OneDrive > Preference… > Account.
  3. Enter an email address.
  4. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

Windows 7 and Windows 10

  1. Open OneDrive.
  2. In the Sign In window, enter the email address and click Sign in.
  3. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

To Set Up Skype for Business and Teams

Mobile iOS and Android

  1. Open application.
  2. Enter the username and password.

Mac, Windows 7, and Windows 10

  1. Open application.
  2. Enter your email.
  3. Either scan the QR code with the MicroStrategy Badge app or choose Credentials to enter your password.

To Set Up Lync

Mobile iOS, Mac, Windows 7, and Windows 10

  1. Open Lync.
  2. Enter your username and password.
