Exporting the results of a script

The results of a script's execution can be viewed in the Results tab of the Script Window. (How?) Those results can be copied into another script, printed, or saved to a file. File options include text, CSV (comma-separated values), Excel format, or XML.

To use the results of a script in another script

  1. On the Connection menu, point to Results, and then select a format option.

  2. Execute the script whose results you want to re-use. (How?)

  3. Open a second Script tab. (How?)

  4. In the Results tab of the first script, select the results you wish to reuse in another script.

  5. Click and drag those results into the second Script window. Or, right-click in the Results tab, select Copy, and then paste the results into the second Script window.

To print the results of a script

  1. On the Connection menu, point to Results, and then select a format option.

  2. Execute the script. (How?)

  3. On the File menu, choose Print Results. The results are printed.

To save results to a text file

  1. On the Connection menu, point to Results, and then select To File.

  2. Execute the script. (How?)

  3. When the Save Results dialog box opens, choose a location and file name and save the file.

To save results to a CSV (comma-separated values), Excel, or XML file

  1. Execute the script. (How?)

  2. From the File menu, select Export results to Excel or Export results to XML.

    To export to CSV, select Export results to Excel.

  3. Choose a location, file name, and file type (Excel, or CSV), and save the file.
