Checking the syntax of a script

When you execute a script, Command Manager automatically checks the script's syntax to ensure that each line is a well-formed Command Manager instruction. You can also check the syntax of a script without executing it.

To check the syntax of a script

  1. Compose a script, or open a previously existing script. (How?)

  2. Select the script's tab in its Script window.

  3. Select the portion of the script for which you wish to check the syntax. (If you wish to check the entire script, you do not need to select.)

  4. Click the Check Syntax button on the toolbar. Command Manager checks the syntax of each statement in the selection until it encounters a syntax error. It then stops the check, highlights that error, and reports the error in the Messages tab of the Script window.
