Setting Up User Security

Security is a concern in any organization. The metadata and data warehouse may contain sensitive information that should not be viewed by all users. It is your responsibility as administrator to make the right data available to the right users.

MicroStrategy has a robust security model that enables you to create users and groups, and control what data they can see and what objects they can use.

Authentication, the process by which the system identifies the user, is an integral part of any security model. Authenticating users is addressed in Identifying Users: Authentication.
