How to Create HyperCards

There are multiple resources at your disposal to learn how to create cards. Use the tabs below to navigate between our product documentation, video tutorials, and knowledge base articles.

HyperCards are objects that hold the data that appears when users hover over a keyword attribute in a web browser. When creating a new HyperCard, you can select a dataset, identify specific KPIs and attributes to display, and more. Once you create a HyperCard, grant users access to the card and deploy it to their browser extension.

  1. Open the Workstation window.
  2. Click Environments > Add New Environment Connection.
  3. Log in to your environment.
  4. In the Navigation pane, click Create a New HyperCard next to HyperCards.
  5. Select the dataset you want to use.

    Ensure your dataset is an in-memory cube. See How to Optimize a HyperIntelligence Dataset for information.

  6. You can use one of two template to create a card: Basic or Profile.

    By default, the Basic HyperCard template appears, which displays your information as a matrix. From the Template tab, click Change Template and select Profile to switch to a profile-based HyperCard template that displays your information as a list and a chart visualization.

  7. Drag the attribute you want to serve as the keyword attributeThe keyword attribute identifies the elements you want to highlight to trigger the card in your web browser. from the left pane to the header of the HyperCard template. A star appears next to the chosen keyword attribute. The header displays sample data using one data point from your attribute.

    If you are using a Profile card, you can add images to the header. To use images, Add Images to Your Dataset.

  8. Use the icons in the header to add a link , clear content , set keyword matching , or specify the display of attribute forms for titles and subtitles. See Enable Alternate Keyword Matching for more information.
  9. Add information to the HyperCard by dragging objects from the dataset to the blank boxes in the HyperCard template. You can change the order of information on the HyperCard by dragging a specific box or list item to a different location.
  10. From the Format tab, you can customize the Header, Matrix, Charts, and Footer of the HyperCard. You can modify the header color , the number of cells , the card's font colors, font weight, and font size of the elements on your card.

  11. Select an item on the HyperCard to modify the formatting properties of the specific item.
  12. Click Save or Clear Card .
