Configure User Authentication

  1. Open the Workstation window with the Navigation pane in smart mode.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click Users and Groups.
  3. Select an Environment from the upper-left drop-down.
  4. Click All Users.
  5. Right-click a user and choose Edit or create a new user by clicking Create a new User next to All Users.
  6. In the left pane, click Authentication.
  7. Enable Standard Authentication Login if this user is allowed to login with standard authentication.
  8. Enter the following information:

    • The Database Authentication Login of the user, if you are using database authentication.
    • The LDAP Distinguished Name (DN) of the user, if you are using LDAP authentication.
    • The Trusted Authentication Request User ID of the user, if you are using trusted authentication.

For security reasons, if you use database authentication, you should enable the Create caches per database login setting in your project-level settings. This ensures that users who execute their reports using different database login IDs cannot use the same cache, and therefore cannot see each other's cached reports.

  9. Click Save or Create User.
