MicroStrategy ONE

Connect to a Cloud Environment

You can connect Workstation to an existing cloud environment or create a new cloud environment.

You must have MicroStrategy Resource Center credentials.

Connecting to existing environments

If you have connected to a cloud environment in the past, you can also connect to it in Workstation. In the Navigation pane of the Workstation window, click Environments, while in smart mode. Double-click an environment and enter your credentials to connect.

Create a new cloud environment

  1. Open the Workstation window with the Navigation pane in smart mode.
  2. Click Environments.
  3. Click Create Cloud Environment.
  4. Log into the MicroStrategy Resource Center or sign up for an account.
  5. Click New Environment.
  6. Select Team, Department, or Enterprise.
  7. Select the checkbox if you want to add a ClosedDeveloper Instance.
  8. Select your environment configuration and click Create Environment.

MicroStrategy prepares your cloud environment. You receive an email notification when your environment is ready to use.

  9. Add a MicroStrategy Badge for login or use the credentials provided in the email.

Generate a connection file for your new cloud environment

Once you have received the email letting you know that your new cloud environment is ready to use, you can generate an .mstrc connection file to connect to that environment from Workstation. The email will include the Environment Name, username, and password required when connecting to your environment.

Make sure your cloud environment is running.

  1. Open the email notification you received when you set up your cloud environment.

  2. Click Access MicroStrategy Platform to open the environment's home page in a browser window.
  3. Under More Resources, hover over MicroStrategy Workstation and click Configure to generate an .mstrc connection file for your environment.
  4. Save the connection file.

Follow the steps in Connect to an On-Premises Environment to connect to your environment from Workstation.
