Python within Workstation

You can use Workstation to create and manage your Python scripts.

New features in MicroStrategy 2021 Update 1:

  • New Scripts section in the main Workstation window.
  • Built-in Python interpreter
  • Upload scripts to the metadata
  • Run and preview scripts

New features in MicroStrategy 2021 Update 2:

  • Create scripts directly in the Workstation Script Editor.
  • Dedicated Gallery with mstrio library code content modules, sample scripts, code snippets, and built-in search for easy navigation.
  • Script Gallery tooltip with insights on how to uses classes and functions, with usage examples.
  • A Monaco editor with auto-complete features to help auto-fill scripts.
  • Certify or decertify scripts.
  • You must have the Command Manager privilege to access scripts.

  • You must have the Certify Python Scripts and Create application objects privileges to certify Python scripts

  • You can create scripts offline, but you must connect to an environment to save them.
