How to Format a Reference Line in a Graph Visualization

Once you display a reference line in a graph visualization, you can define additional formatting options for that reference line.

  1. Display a reference line in a graph visualization.
  2. Right-click the reference line and select Format. The Format panel appears with the available options.
  3. Use the options in the Level drop-down to display a single reference line across each graph in the visualization or use the same reference line across each row, column, or individual graph. The availability of the Level option depends on the layout of your graph.

The Level option is available for all reference line types, except Constant.

  4. Select the Show label checkbox to display a label for the reference line.
  5. You can choose the type of reference line to display in the visualization.

Click Type to display the type of reference line shown in the visualization (for example, Maximum, Average, etc.).

Click Metric to display the name of the metric used to create the reference line.

Click Value to display the value of the reference line.

  6. Format the label text using the standard Font formatting options.
  7. You can add additional references lines based on the metric that appears in the second drop-down. If necessary, select a different metric on which to base the reference line. Then, click Add and select the reference line type (for example, Maximum, Average, etc.).
  8. To remove a reference line, right-click the reference line and choose Disable Reference Line.
