Modifying the Page Sections in the Default Page

This topic provides step-by-step instructions on modifying the Default page. The Default page can be modified manually or when interactivity with MicroStrategy Web is enabled. Changes to the Default page affect every page that is based on the Default page.

Interactivity with MicroStrategy Web is enabled

The following instructions use interactivity with MicroStrategy Web to modify the page sections for the Default page so all MicroStrategy Web pages that inherit the Default page show those changes.

Make sure you have completed the Enabling Interactivity with MicroStrategy Web step before proceeding further.

  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.  

  2. Click the Default Page button, located on the upper right of the browser. The path section shows Default Page as the current page.  

  3. Right-click the page section you wish to modify and make the appropriate selection from the context menu.  

  4. Save your changes as necessary.

Interactivity with MicroStrategy Web is not enabled

The following instructions modify the page sections for the Default page so all MicroStrategy Web pages that inherit the Default page show those changes.

  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.  

  2. Click on MicroStrategy Web Configuration inside the Application Settings view to expand the hierarchical tree. The expanded list comprises the different settings that can be modified to perform customizations.  

  3. Click on Pages to expand the list of styles used in MicroStrategy Web.  

  4. Double-click the -1 (Default Page) page to launch the Basic Properties editor.  

  5. Click the Template Properties tab at the bottom in the right frame to make changes to the Default page template.  

  6. Right-click the page section you wish to modify and make the appropriate selection.  

  7. Save your changes.
