MicroStrategy ONE

To format the border

Prerequisite

This procedure assumes you have already accessed the Format Cells dialog box. For information to access this dialog box, see the Right-click formatting options, Formatting a metric on a report, or Formatting all the metrics on a report instructions.

  1. Select the Border tab.

  2. Use defaults keeps the default border style when this check box is selected; all other options on this tab are unavailable. To make a change to one of the options on this tab, clear the Use defaults check box.

  3. To remove the entire border, click None in the Presets area. You do not have to select a Line Style, Line Color, and so on.

  4. Select the Line Style, which is the style of line to use as the border. Your choices are No Line, Dashed, Dotted, Hair, Thin, Double, and Thick.

    • The Hair line style cannot be displayed in reports viewed in MicroStrategy Web.

    • Some line styles do not display in MicroStrategy Developer. They are visible if you apply and save them, then open the report in MicroStrategy Web.

  5. Select the color to use for the border by clicking the arrow next to Line Color.

  6. Select which borders to apply the Line Style and Line Color to:

    • To apply the formatting to the entire border, click Outline in the Presets area.

    • To apply the formatting to specific sections of the border, click the Top Border, Bottom Border, Left Border, and/or Right Border buttons.

The only border formatting that is visible in MicroStrategy Developer is formatting applied to all four borders (by clicking None or Outline in the Presets area). For more complex formatting combinations, such as applying bold to top and bottom borders only, or applying green to left and right borders only, you can apply and save these changes in MicroStrategy Developer, and then open the report in MicroStrategy Web to see the formatting.

  1. Continue formatting or click OK to apply the border formatting.
