Editing a drill map

The following instructions describe editing a drill map as a stand-alone object. This allows you to modify all the drill map associations, not just those linked to a particular object. To edit an object's drill map, see Steps to edit an object's drill map.

To edit a drill map

1. In MicroStrategy Developer, double-click the drill map to be modified. The Drill Map Editor opens.

2. To edit a drill path, select it and make your changes to its properties.

3. If desired, create new drill paths. (How?)

4. If desired, edit the drill map associations.

   • Click Associate with. The Drill Map Associations dialog box opens.

   • To add a new association, navigate to the object in the Available Objects list and click > to add it to the Selected Objects list.

   • To remove an association, select the object in the Selected Objects list and click >.

   • Click OK when you have finished editing the associations. You are returned to the Drill Map Editor.

5. To remove all the drill paths defined in the drill map, click Clear all.

6. To return to the system hierarchy drill map, click Remove Association.

7. To reverse modifications made since the drill map was saved last, click Reset.

8. When you are finished with the drill map, click OK. Your changes are saved and the Drill Map Editor closes.
