MicroStrategy ONE

Creating a new drill map

The following instructions describe creating a new drill map as a stand-alone object. This allows you to associate multiple objects with the same drill map. If you want to work with a particular object's drill maps, you can access the Drill Map Editor while editing that object. For details, see Steps to edit an object's drill map.

To create a new drill map

  1. In MicroStrategy Developer, select File, point to New, and then select Drill Map. The Drill Map Editor opens.

  2. Enter a Name for the new drill map.

  3. Create at least one new drill path, or drilling option. (How?)

  4. You can associate the drill map with objects. Association means defining which objects use this drill map. (How?)

  5. To remove an association, select the associated object in the Origin list and click Remove Association.

  6. To remove all the drill paths defined in the drill map, click Clear all. This does not affect associations.

  7. To reverse modifications made since the drill map was saved last, click Reset. Any changes made to associations are also reset.

  8. When you are done creating the drill map, click Save All and Close. Your changes are saved and the Drill Map Editor closes.
