Custom Group Editor: Insert menu

The options in the Insert menu allow you to add objects to a filter definition. You must select an object in the Object Browser to activate these menu options.

The menu contains the following options:

• New Custom Group Element: creates a new custom group element in the Custom Group Definition pane.

• Add to Custom Group Element: adds the selected object to a qualification in the selected custom group. A new qualification is created as necessary.

• Metric Banding: creates a band using the selected metric, on the Custom Group Band Qualification pane.

• Custom Group Prompt Element: creates a prompted qualification from the selected object. A prompted qualification allows the user to dynamically modify the contents of a report at run time.

• If the selected object is an attribute, the Prompt Generation Editor opens. This dialog box allows you to create a prompt that either lists attribute elements or allows a user (at run-time) to complete a qualification using the attribute.

• If the selected object is a metric, the prompt allows a user (at run-time) to complete a qualification using the metric.

• If the selected object is a hierarchy, the prompt lists all the attributes in the hierarchy. At run-time, the user selects which attributes to include on the report.

• If the selected object is a report or filter, the prompt lists reports or filters, with the default set to the selected object. At run-time, the user selects which reports or filters to include on the report.
