Consolidation Editor: Elements menu

The options in the Elements menu allow you to edit consolidation elements.

This menu contains the following options:

  • Add Element: creates a new consolidation element. For more information and a procedure, see Creating consolidation elements.

  • Delete Element: removes the selected consolidation element.

  • Rename Element: changes the name of the selected consolidation element. Changing the name from the default is recommended because it is displayed on reports. For a procedure, see Renaming consolidation elements.

  • Move Up: moves the selected element one level up in the consolidation display.

  • Move Down: moves the selected element one level down in the consolidation display.

  • Import Elements: imports elements from another consolidation, using the Select a Consolidation dialog box and the Import Consolidation Elements dialog box. For more information and a procedure, see Importing consolidation elements.

  • Formatting Properties: contains the following options:

  • Element Header: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the selected element header (that is, the name of the element).

  • Element Values: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the values of the selected element values (the data values of the element). Element value formatting cannot be overridden by report formatting. To apply report formatting on element values, element values must be set to the default formatting. For details on the interaction of formatting layers, see the Reports chapter of the Advanced Reporting Help.

  • Clear Element Formatting: restores the default formatting for the element header and values.

See Formatting consolidations for more information and a procedure.

  • Subtotals: enables or disables subtotals for the consolidations. By default, subtotals are disabled, which means that you cannot subtotal a report object placed to the left of the consolidation on a report. For more information, see About consolidations and subtotals.
