Version 2021

Banding type: Banding points

The Banding points type of banding qualification slices a range of metric values into a number of equal bands that appear as rows on a report. You manually define each band, which allows you to produce bands of varying sizes.

The engine uses its internal logic to create the bands based on the banding points that you specify. For an example of this logic, see Creating custom group banding qualifications.

For example, given the following banding points:

  • 1

  • 10

  • 100

The custom group element is sliced into two bands:

  • 1 - 10

  • 10 - 100

For instructions, see Creating custom group banding qualifications.

For more information and an expanded example, see the Custom Groups and Consolidations chapter in the Advanced Reporting Help.
