Properties Dialog Box, Document Properties, Mobile

If you arrived here from Workstation, see the Workstation Document Authoring Help.

The Mobile section in the Document Properties section of the Properties dialog box lets you specify display options for a document in MicroStrategy Mobile, such as whether tabs are used to select a layout in a multi-layout document. The options are described below:

  • Enable graph tooltips: Determine whether tooltips are displayed in documents on an iPhone or iPad. Tooltips provide additional information about a graph, such as the value of a specific data point. For an example image, see the Graphing chapter in the Advanced Reporting Help. (Cleared by default.)
  • Enable zoom (pinch and double-tap): Allow users to zoom in the document using pinch or double-tap gestures when the document is displayed on an iPhone or iPad. (Selected by default.)
  • Enable copy for text: Determine whether a user can select and copy text fields on the document, when the document is displayed on an iPhone or iPad. You can override this setting for a specific text field. For details and an example of selecting text on a mobile device, see the MicroStrategy Mobile Administration Help. (Cleared by default.)
  • Smart client: Determine whether offline or local transactions are reflected in the displayed grid immediately and then updated in the dataset when an Internet connection is reestablished. Select one of the following:
    • To allow users to use local transactions during offline mode, select Enable smart client. Transaction data submitted during offline mode (a local transaction) is written back to the local dataset when the Internet connection is reestablished, and any document pointing to this local dataset receives this transaction data change. For detailed information about local transactions and steps to enable them in a document, see the Document Creation Help.

Enabling smart client also allows transaction action selectors to be available offline.

    • To disable local transactions during offline mode, select Disable smart client. (Default)
    • To inherit the Smart client setting from the project, select Use project-level behavior.
  • Enable swiping to switch layout: Select this option to allow users to swipe between pages or select an option in the layout bar to display a report or document on an iPhone or iPad. Clear this option to disable swiping between layouts and have users switch layouts by tapping the layout's name in the layout bar. (Cleared by default.)
  • Document theme color: Determine the display theme used to display the document on an iPhone or iPad. The options are:
    • Application theme color (default): Select this option to have the document and its widgets use the same theme as the rest of the MicroStrategy Mobile application.
    • Dark: Select this option to display the document using the dark display theme.
    • Light: Select this option to display the document using the light display theme.
