Strategy ONE
Add a Filter While Viewing a Dashboard
Starting in Strategy One (March 2025), you can add attribute filters to the Filter Data panel while you are viewing a dashboard in Library, not only while editing it. This allows you to create personalized data views and focus on specific sets of data without needing help from a dashboard author. These personal filters create a streamlined workflow that improves data interactivity and flexibility. Personal filters and their selections are saved if the Library view opens with the last viewed dashboard, although you can remove the personal filters. Personal filters are available for filtering in Library Mobile; you cannot add new personal filters in Library Mobile.
Starting in Strategy One (April 2025), you can add new personal filters in Library Mobile, for both iOS and Android.
If personal filters have been enabled, the Add Filters icon displays in the panel's toolbar, as shown below. Enable the feature in the Dashboard Properties Dialog.
When you add a personal filter to a page, it applies to all pages in that chapter. If another chapter already contains the same chapter filter and it is synchronized, the personal filter is also synchronized. Synchronized chapter filters are also referred to as global filters, since they apply across multiple chapters. Changes you make in a global filter synchronize to any chapter that contains the same filter. Global filters display with the Synchronized icon .
The Store Vitals chapter of this dashboard contains a chapter filter on Department and personal filters have been enabled. All four departments display in the heat map. Coffee Press is selected in the heat map, so it displays in the Item Details grid.
You add the Aisle attribute as a personal filter. Focus on aisles five through seven by adjusting the new Aisle filter. Only the Home Goods and Toys departments display in the heat map, and the Item Details grid is blank because the selected item (Coffee Press) is in aisle four.
When you switch to the Promotion Analysis page, which is in the same Store Vitals chapter, the personal filter is applied. You can view the filter in the filter summary, below the dashboard title bar. Only the Home Goods and Toys departments display in the bubble graph. Personal filters are chapter filters, so they apply to all pages in the chapter.
If you switch to the Peer Store Comparison page in the Peer Store Comparison chapter, no filter selections have been made. The personal filter applies only to the Store Vitals chapter.
