How to Connect to Zendesk

Zendesk is a cloud-based customer service and support ticketing system. Use the MicroStrategy Zendesk connector to import data from your Zendesk Support account into the MicroStrategy platform.

Gathering Required Information

If your Zendesk Support Help Center has not enabled custom host-mapping, your subdomain can be identified from its URL: https://[ subdomain ]

If custom host-mapping is enabled, visit and submit the email address you use to access your Zendesk account to receive your Help Center’s subdomain via email.

Accessing the Connector in MicroStrategy

  1. Choose Add Data > New Data.
  2. Find the Zendesk connector from the data source list.

  3. Click the connector.

Using the Zendesk Connector to Import Data

  1. Provide the Help Center’s subdomain you obtained in Gathering Required Information.

    You only need to provide the subdomain when launching the Zendesk connector for the first time.

  2. Click Connect.

  3. Sign into your account and grant the connector permission to access your account.
  4. Upon successful authorization, you are redirected to a data import page containing all supported objects in your Zendesk Support account.
  5. Identify the objects to import. Double-click or drag and drop them in Selected Tables.

    Drag and drop is available on all platforms except Windows Workstation and Windows Desktop.

  6. Click Filter Options to import data using a date range.
  7. Define your filters and click OK.

  8. Click Submit.

    Depending on the datasets selected, this process may take some time.

  9. On the Preview dialog, wrangle your data and click Finish.
